Never Too Old

40 Things to Give Up for a Better Life

#33 I’m Useless

I keep getting mail from AARP reminding me that I am no longer a spring chicken. And those mailings can make one feel old, over-the-hill, ancient, used up, with one foot in the grave, basically useless.

But it’s not true. Just today someone young came into my office. She was sweet, kind…she brought me lunch. And in return I found God using me to encourage her in her writing endeavors.

Sometimes it good to be “old.” Old means experience. Old means perspective. Old means, hopefully, wisdom.

So let’s quit thinking only the young are useful. We all have opportunities to do good work.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

‭‭Ephesian ‭2:10 NIV
