Yes, I Can!

40 Things to Give Up for a Better Life
#36 I Can’t
This is not a plug for my book, “Yes, You Can!”. (But I’d you want to buy it, I’d be so thankful.)
Instead it’s a reminder to myself that I can do hard things. Or even that I can do easy things that I don’t want to do.
Do you ever have that problem? You just don’t feel like doing what you need to do?
Sometimes when I feel like that way, I want to give up and say, “I can’t.”
But the real issue is that I don’t want to.
Take today. It’s cold out. All I want to do is curl up under a warm blanket. But instead I am writing. Not because I want to, but because I need to. I can do it even though every ounce of my being wants to be cozy and warm. I can do things I don’t want to do. I can do things I think are hard. I can.
No more “I can’t.”
The blanket will feel so much better knowing that I’ve finished my work before I lay down under it.
What are you putting off doing because you “can’t?”
