#20 Constant Noise
This morning I was listening to news radio on my way to work. Something was off, like a high pitched squeal. I turned down the volume, thinking something was wrong with my car. The squeal stopped. When I raised the volume, back came the squeal. I had a choice to make, news with squeal or silence. I chose silence…for a few minutes. Then I found a podcast on my phone.
The wise thing would have been to drive in silence, to pray, to listen to the morning city sounds, to make space to think. But did I do it? No.
Why is it so hard to turn off the noise?
