The Boring Middle

You simply have to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Put blinders on and plow right ahead.

40 Things to Give Up for a Better Life
#26 Giving up
I have a confession to make. Right now I’m having a hard time writing these Lenten posts. I want to throw down my phone, roll over in bed, go to sleep and forget I ever started. Why in the world did I title this series “40 Things to Give Up for a Better Life?” I should have titled it “Things to Give Up for a Better Life.” Then I could skips a day here and there.
The problem is NOT finding 40 things I need to give up. That’s the easiest part. The problem is procrastination, attention deficit, and distraction.
Being smack dab in the middle of a project is not fun at all. The beginning is full of excitement. The end full of satisfaction. But the middle…ugh. Can I get an amen?
The middle is why I am knitting three pairs of socks, two sweaters, a wrap and a shawl. And that’s just the knitting. I’m not going to go through the list of started and deserted crochet projects or the amount to stories half written.
The middle is overwhelming, exhausting and boring.
But today, I’m pressing on. I will not quit.
How about you?
