The Truth: You are loved. You are Beautiful. You have a purpose.

3 Ways I Am Gaining Wisdom

“for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
‭‭Proverbs 8:11 NIV

The older I get, the more I realize Wisdom should be our highest aim over wealth or intellectual knowledge. Understanding with our hearts and souls is more valuable than filling our minds with information, but so much more difficult.

3 Ways I Am Gaining Wisdom

  1. Ask others how they are feeling, thinking, and responding to the situation. (Try to see the situation through others’ eyes.)
  2. Ask God to help you have his vision for the situation. (Reading Proverbs and Psalms are especially helpful.)
  3. Read the books by deep thought leaders. (Even, and maybe especially, by those who think/believe differently. This can confirm and strengthen my opinions, but also will help me understand others’ ways of thinking. Sometimes it makes me reconsider my assumptions.)

“God,

grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can,

and wisdom to know the difference.”

-Reinhold Niebuhr
