A Song of Praise, Hallelujah
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”
Psalms 40:1-3 NIV
These verses remind me of my mom. She used to sing a lot at home. One of her favorite hymns was “He Brought Me Out” by Henry J. Zelley. The refrain goes like this:
He brought me out of the miry clay,
He set my feet on the Rock to stay;
He puts a song in my soul today,
A song of praise, hallelujah!
Lord,
Thank you for lifting me out of the slimy pit of sin and setting me on the solid rock,
The solid foundation.
Thank you for putting a song in my soul,
A song of Praise,
Hallelujah!
